Abstract:
On a retainer contract with Highground, I redesigned the prior iteration of a lead magnet built for Vistage chairs intended to deputize them with knowledge of their member organizations security risks, leverage their influence, keep Vistage leads hotter for longer, and increase Highground sales qualifications. The process involved a series of design sprints diagnosing the UI/UX issues that deterred Vistage chairs from using the portal and applying sound design principles to correct them, then moving into a series of engineering sprints to re-skin the application, improve the readability of data visualizations, and add slicers to the data to increase clarity and user interaction.

Abstract:
During my time at Highground, I built a platform that automated the delivery of our comprehensive Smart & Safe Assessment. The assessment was a unique offering for small and mid-market businesses at the beginning of their journey into cybersecurity. It laid out a tailored program path for them to save time, money, and frustration by focusing on what mattered in their exact situation without deviations the grandiose promises of tool providers that don’t address root issues. The end result of copious interviewing and a full scan of the environment was a breakdown of their active vulnerabilities, an ITIL-based “bang-for-buck” analysis on their IT change management practices, recommendations on focused asset protection limited to the specific risks inherent to their business model and financial exposure - and finally, the smallest appropriate governance framework to attain compliance in based on their industry and contract requirements. As the primary analyst for the Smart & Safe’s threat and interview data, and a lifelong understudy of SMB executives - It was my task to carry an automated answer for the assessment from its inception to its launch for a service addressing an audience of SMB executives seeking clarity in their cyber journey.

Abstract:
While finishing my final semester in college and scrabbling my belongings into boxes during the COVID campus evacuations: I was also building a team planner solution that allowed the Highground team to combine the strengths of Geno Wickman’s Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) with Agile, and enabled a battery of long-term planning use cases specific to consulting organizations so we could more effectively plan quarterly objectives and track profitability within the organization. See the rapid prototyping process as it goes from a series of spreadsheets to a fully-fledged planner application that’s still being used by multiple users daily.
